The steamer plate should be pushed right up to the wall. The more flush the plate is to the wall, the more effective the application will be.

It is not normally necessary to descale the wallpaper remover after each use. We recommend descaling after each 10th - 15th filling. However, how often you descale depends on the hardness of the water.
You can descale your steam wallpaper remover with normal household vinegar. You should it mix water and vinegar to a scale of 1:1. Pour the descaling fluid right into the water tank: approx. 2.0 - 2.5 litres (DTS 5800 4.0 l) . Switch on the steam wallpaper remover for 10 minutes and then switch it off. Disconnect the plug. Allow the descaling fluid to soak for about 30 minutes and then empty it completely. Rinse thoroughly two to three times with clear water to wash away any residual descaler.
Yes, non-pressurised steam is just as effective as a typical pressurised steam cleaners and can be even more effective as the steam does not cool down as quickly, when it is applied, in comparison to a pressurised steam cleaner.
Normally you don't need any additional resources. In the event that there are several layers, or the wallpaper is very difficult to remove (coated/waxed wallpaper) we recommend using a putty knife as well.
This is definitely a good thing to do if there are several layers of wallpaper. The steamer can normally get through the first two layers. If there are more than two layers, we definitely recommend cutting the wallpaper or using a perforation roller. You can, for example, use Wagner's perforation roller: article number: 0338702.
If the wallpaper goes dark after spraying this is a good sign that the wallpaper will come off easily.
The water in the steamer is brought to boiling point. The steam that is emitted can burn your skin. Never allow the steamer plate to come in contact with your skin. Wear protective gloves.
